How an age calculator works
An age calculator compares your date of birth with the selected or current date and accounts for the actual calendar dates between them.
Example: Someone born on 1 January 2000 turns 26 on 1 January 2026. Before their birthday in a given year, their completed age is one year lower than the simple difference between the two year numbers.
Using the full date rather than just the birth year avoids that common mistake and makes the result more precise.
